After School Green Club
Focused on Objectives 2.2, 2.3, 2.4
Date: Fall 2018 to current,1-2 times a month Teacher: Amy Morrill, Parent Volunteer/Instructional Assistant Grade: Second Grade Description: The students in the Green Club created signs for all paper towel dispensers, reminding student to be conscious of not using too many paper towels after washing their hands. The Green Club also sorted crayons before shipping them to Crayola for recycling. Additionally, the Green Club students planted indoor plant clippings in recycled containers and distributed the containers to classrooms and common spaces throughout our building to encourage a healthy indoor environment. Finally, the Green Club worked on repairing and rebuilding our 3 Bluebird boxes on campus. The kids created “Sparrow Spookers” (decorations to scare away Sparrows) and cleaned out old nesting materials to get ready for new Bluebird nests this Spring. |
