Schoolwide Earth Day celebration
We found out that we received Maryland Green School status the day before our planned "Schoolwide Earth Day Celebration". What a perfect way to celebrate our accomplishments this year!

- Earned Green School Badges
- Taking nature walks
- Creating Earth Day artwork and writing pieces to hang in the wall for whole school "Gallery Walk"
- Going on an Outdoor Scavenger hut to explore green spaces on our campus
- Planting milkweed in our Monarch nursery and 1st Grade Gardens
- Planting Black-eyed Susan in the front bench garden
- Creating recycling posters to post around school
- Watching Earth Day educational videos

aDOPT A polar BEAR
Funds raised from our Green School Spiritwear Sale will go towards adopting a Polar Bear through World Wildlife Federation.

Cafeteria Bulletin Board
The bulletin board near our cafeteria has hosted Green School information for the past several years. “It’s Easy Being Green” highlighted Green School efforts in each of the grade levels, and this year, it focused on “Flip It Off Friday” and “Waste Free Wednesday”.
