Parr's Ridge Elementary School
Maryland Green School
Mission
The mission of Parr's Ridge Elementary is to achieve academic success by working together in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Vision
Parr's Ridge is a primary school where positive relationships, high expectations, and rigorous curriculum achieve a creative and motivating learning community. We value positive, independent thinking along with respectful and responsible behaviors. Our school is a place where everyone is eager to learn and grow. Parr's Ridge Elementary School opened its doors for the first time in August 2005 to serve the ever-growing Mt. Airy community and houses students in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade. Parr’s Ridge is the first, and only Primary School in Carroll County which shares a campus with Mt. Airy Elementary (3rd - 5th Grade) and Mt. Airy Middle School (6th-8th Grades). Parr's Ridge Elementary School and Mt. Airy Elementary School share one PTO, which provides continuity for students and parents alike.

Green School Culture
Parr’s Ridge Elementary School has a history of striving to “Live Green Every Day” since we opened our doors in 2005, as Carroll County’s first and only primary school. Parr’s Ridge serves between 450 and 475 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grades. Our school has been certified as a Maryland Green School in 2010 and again in 2014. Many green initiatives were put into place in the past and we have worked hard the past few years to re-focus our efforts on being Earth helpers. Staff members have worked hard to ensure our young students learn about how their actions can make a difference, and how they can make an impact to help to take care of our school, our community, and our Earth.
